I know what your thinking.....20 songs all played together on one podcast...Crazy...but you've gotta keep pushing boundaries..because boundaries don't push themselves, otherwise boundaries would be moving all the time, then us humans wouldn't need to push them. Infact that would save us time if they were pushing themselves...Okay...What the hell am I writing.....

HACKSAW MANIA SHOW #001

Its the first Hacksaw Mania Podcast..Yes!! I've been srawling (is that a word) the internet for music...and this is the result. A mix of free MP3's from artist websites, myspace and blogs etc, combined with tracks that I've actually had to buy. (I know...why was the internet designed for if it wasn't for free music and to save me money.... I think someone needs to look into that.)

Anyway Hacksaw Mania features all styles of music from your classic indie to experimental noise, Punk, Metal and Rock to New Wave and Electro bands as well as anything that just sounds good.

I've also chucked in a few clips of audio that seemed funny at the time..but sometimes you look back and say what the f**k was I laughing at..well maybe someone else will find it funny the first time.

Like I sed - some of these tracks were free and as a way of repaying my gratitude towards those artists I thought rather then just name the tracks below I 'd chuck in a bit of extra info where i could. If I've put nothing next to the tracks just check out their Myspace.

Tracklisting:

1) The Lodger - Kicking Sand

(This track is available to download digitally)

2) The Barbaric White Elephant - The Owl is Fowl

(Playing 16th August Tunbridge Wells Forum and in Birmingham Sunflower Lounge 2nd Oct)

3) Cajun Dance Party - The Next Untouchable

(Doing Reading/Leeds Festivals)

4) Crystal Castles - Crimewave EP (Split wiv Health)

(These guys are practically touring the UK in Aug/Sept - Somewhere near you I guess if you check out their Myspace)

5) Rolo Tomassi - Film Noir

(Again these guys are touring over the next couple of months - worth checking out that noise!!)

6) Parts and Labor - Fractured Skies

(Awesome band - do people say awesome anymore!! Anyway they need a new drummer so if you're in the New York area - get on that myspace)

7) Joxaren - Sangria

(My rule of thumb is that anything from Sweden tends to be good - I know its not the best rule of thumb but its a rule of thumb all the same..what was I talking about.)

8) Deerhoof - Plus 81

(These guys put up a load of their material up for free download a couple of years back - its all great. Use that search engine!!)

9) Health - Crimewave EP (Split wiv Crystal Castles)

(Touring the UK in August. Its Myspace time again.)

10) Fuck Buttons - Sweet Love for Plan...

(They've got a really nice picture on their website - Fuckbuttons.co.uk)

11) The Teenagers - Homecoming

(These guys are touring their beautiful filth in Europe...Paris..London and Faversham.)

12) Shooting Spires - A Million Drops

(Another New Yorker - check his Myspace)

13) Sleeping States - Rivers

(Video for this track on youtube. UK & US tour. Also this track is available on vinyl)

14) The Kreeps - Everybody I went to School is Dead

(For some reason when I hear this track there's a bit that reminds me of a bit on the first Supergrass album - I've not checked this to find it, but if someone does I'll be a very happy man. email me.)

15) Sword Heaven - Town Hag

(This is Horrrrrrrriiffffffic!!!!! I'm thinking being stamped on whilist having your face grinded against the smashed window of a derailed train..ouuchh!! - but still for some reason I can't stop listening to this. Check out loadrecords on myspace)

16) Black Ghosts (Skream & Plastician Remix) - Some Way Through This

(Something abit off the track - keeping on that train theme. This is nice piece of Dubstep - vocals to die for!!)

Thanks for listening and reading.

Any comments or suggestions contact me at hacksawmania.yahoo.co.uk.

Also if your an artist who wants their track on the podcast let me know at that above email - everything welcome.
